Amigurumi Crochet

Have you heard of this before? Well I have not. I though crochet was crochet. It was the first thing I learned in school. Here is a defination of it.

Amigurumi (編みぐるみ?, lit. crocheted or knitted stuffed toy) is the Japanese art of knitting or crocheting small stuffed animals and anthropomorphic creatures. The word is derived from a combination of the Japanese words ami, meaning crocheted or knitted, and nuigurumi, meaning stuffed doll. Amigurumi are typically animals, but can include artistic renderings or inanimate objects endowed with anthropomorphic features.

There's so much information out on the web reference it. Patterns, lots of patters and free ones. Well I had to give it a try. I found that you have to crochet from the inside of the item going around instead of the out side. I went small and made cherries. Here is one link to more information.

It makes a nice tight crochet.
