Who is sleeping under the tree!!!!

I know I should of posted this before Christmas but here it is. My keep it simple Christmas tree.

 

 

You will find some critters in

 the tree if you look.

Making a Chirlie Brown tree!

I decided to make a Charlie brown tree. So here goes.........I had some flowers on long stems so I decided to strip them of their flowers to use the stems. I know I would not use the long stems  with the flowers.

Stems are striped and here is a picture to go by.

                         

I had an old wreath that I was going to get rid off so I decided to take the pine ends off for my tree.

Here you can see I taped my stems together.

I have now started to tape on the pine ends to the tree.

 

The branches are all taped on and ready for the floral brown tape. Now if I was to do it again I would first tape every thing with the brown tape. But I did not have any at the time so I used green floral tape. I would of made it easier.

 

Now it is all tape with the brown floral tape and I wired a red Christmas bulb to the one limb.

 

Got to have a stand. So I found some scrap wood hubby had and made my stand.

 

There is my Charlie Brown tree.

 

I didn't have a blue little blanket to wrap around the tree, so I used  a scarf and I see someone has fallen asleep under the tree.

I see a little mouse has brought the little sleepy bear a candy cane!

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 
 
 

 



Tree up!

Well here it is Nov 30 and I just put my tree up. I decided to do something different. I put up what is called half a tree. It is like the tree was cut down the middle. It hugs the wall. I also went out and bought a flocked garland and cut it apart to add to the tree so it looked like it had snow on it. I think it turned out not bad. I was inspired by all the snow we got and how nice it looked on the trees that I decided to try and get the same look. Well close to it. So here it is ......

The bottom picture the lights are on but it looks

much nicer then in the photo. More pics to come when I get it decorated.

My mom passed away last month, god rest her soul. She

was an awesome lady and I will miss her dearly.

She loved to watch me work on my bears and see them come to life.

She was one of my biggest fans. Love you mom!

I had a chance to go to Bear Country USA and I just love seeing all the bears. I will be posting pictures here on my blog later on.  I am traveling through the USA on my way home from a great visit with my daughter and family.

Dudly in Teddy Bear and Friends!

Well to my surprise Dudly is in the October 2013 Teddy Bear & Friends issue. I was so excited!

I would like to thank Joanne Livingston for encouraging me to try a more realistic style bear. I think she has inspired a few people as she has so generously showed how to do different technique on her blog. I have tried the techniques out on Dudly plus for the first time needle felting an open close mouth. It took a bit for me to figure it out and also teeth. I am pleased on how it all came together.

Take Three!

Here is what I have been working on. The latest one is on the right. I still have to name him. All three are different as you can see. I am love working an these realistic style bears. It takes me a while to do them up, but well worth it I think. I used glass doll eyes for the first time in the last bear. I really like them way they look. On each bear I have tried something new. Hope you like them as much as I do!

Whats on the work table!

Well I have three bears cut out from this lot of mohair. I am going work on more bears this year. For the past few years I have not been producing much in the line of bears. I am working on different ways to create bears. I have been learning a lot from Joanne Livingston . From there I have been  experimenting with different products on how to create more with my bears. I just finished an open close mouth bear with teeth, leather paw pads and nails. I am loving the new procedure I am useing to creat these bears. So stay tuned for more up dates.

WIP

Here is a WIP bear. He has an open closed mouth. Still working on the paws and feet. They will have claws added. He has taken me awhile to finish. More pictures to come when he is finished.  Have not named him yet. hope you like him.

A New Year and a New Bear!

Well here it is 2013 and almost the end of feb. Where has the time gone.

 I have just finished a new bear. Here is one picture of him. He is a steam punk polar bear named Kalluk. I made his hat and vest from leather. He is 9 inches tall with out his hat . It took me a while to finish him but he is now. The hat and vest are removable.

 I also have another bear cut out and ready to sew. It is a bit bigger then this oneand a different color.  I am hoping I will get back in the groove for 2013 with my bears. These bears are a new pattern I have created. They have no neck joint but armature that goes from head to bottom of body. A couple of new things I am trying this year. More to come.
